Week 2

Another week has flown by!

In maths, we have just finished our unit on fractions. We have been really impressed with how well the children have grasped halves and quarters of objects and quantities. The children have blown us away with how independently they are working in maths and how they are accessing resources independently to support their learning! Next week we will be moving on to our next unit which is ‘place value in numbers to 100’.

In computing this week the children enjoyed using the i-pads to create a poster about staying safe online.

The children were very excited to observe how their broad bean seed had changed this week! The children used magnifying glasses to observe closely and noticed that the seeds had cracked and a shoot had begun to grow. The children produced some very careful diagrams to record how the seed had changed. We also learnt about the difference between evergreen and deciduous trees in science this week and the children enjoyed going on a walk around the school grounds to identify these types of trees. Just a reminder that next Wednesday the children will be visiting Mrs Harrison’s garden as part of our work on plants.

Just a polite reminder to continue to log your child’s books as ‘completed’ on ‘Go Read’. Next week we will return to only changing the children’s books if their Go Read account has been updated. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about this.
