We have had another fantastic week in year 1 and we are blown away by how hard the children are working.
In maths, we have started the 'multiplication and division' block. The children have been learning about repeated addition and using arrays to represent groups of objects. The children particularly enjoyed a practical lesson where they used sticky dots to build arrays.
In Science, we have been developing our labelling skills by labelling animal structures.
In History, the children really enjoyed learning about Mary Anning and working as historians to find out what she is famous for. The children used a variety of picture clues as evidence and discovered that Mary was a fossil hunter. The children then had a go at being fossil hunters themselves. They had to work with care and control, just like Mary, to ensure they didn't damage the fossils.
