Friday 24th April 2020
Happy Friday everyone. I hope that you've all settled back into your routines after the Easter holidays, although I know that, at first, I found it a bit tricky to get back into the swing things after two weeks off. Hopefully, the new maths and English have been going well and I hope that you'll be able to send me copies of your written work once you've done it (type it up if you can). We did setting descriptions way back in September (doesn't that seem so very long ago?) so I'm expecting some brilliant pieces of writing from you all- no pressure! You don't need to send any of the maths through to me, just try to work your way through it and let me know if you need any help.
This week, we've just done a bit more of the same-long walks, playing in the garden and we even did a second Easter egg hunt because we still had so much chocolate in the house. To be honest, it's been a very quiet week in the Duffy household, but at least the weather has been good. Theo has really been missing school and going to see his family, as I'm sure many of you are too.
As always, it's been lovely to hear from you via email and seeing all of the things that you're getting up to. Keep the emails coming and keep smiling! I'll be adding some new photos that people have sent this week to the gallery later this morning, so have a look and see what everyone else has been up to.
Tuesday 21st April 2020
Hi everyone, welcome to the summer term. I hope you've all had a restful and enjoyable Easter break and really made the most of two weeks of sunshine and lazy days! It certainly looks like some of you have been having a great time, judging by the photo's you've sent me- sooooooooo many photos for me to save, name and upload to the gallery. If you're one of those people who are keeping me regularly updated on what you've been up to, thank you very much. It really makes a difference to see all of your smiling faces and knowing that you're all ok. If you haven't been in touch yet, what are you waiting for? I love seeing all of the cool things that you've been up to and the many weird and zany approaches that some of you are taking to your work.
It looks like we're going to have another sunny week, so get outside, make the most of your time at home and do some learning al-fresco; You'll never get an opportunity like this again.
I've had a lovely Easter with my family, doing all of the traditional Easter activities like an Easter Egg hunt, some Easter themed arts and crafts and generally just trying to relax and enjoy some quality time with Hayley and the boys. Oh, and we built a boat, which you can see in the gallery. We've been on lots of walks, trying to keep Theo busy so he can't get up to as much mischief and spent countless more hours on the trampoline! I even managed to tidy my garage, which I've been trying to do for about 18 months.
Anyway, your work for the week is in the section below and you'll notice some parts of it are similar to what we've been doing already and some bits are different. As always, send me pics (or other files like Word or Powerpoint) of what you've been up to and I'll add them to the gallery. If you've already sent me something and I haven't added it, please let me know as there's a chance I might have missed some things among all the e-mails. I'm trying to figure out how best to show your writing that you've been sending me (cough, punctuation is still important even if you're not in school, cough) and I'll add those on sometime in the next week or so.
As always, take care, have fun and keep in touch.
