Week 3

This week has been assessment week and we have been blown away by the resilience that the children have shown. They really have given it their all this week and we are so, so proud of them!

We made the most of the lovely weather this week and took our learning outside! The children enjoyed completing a maths hunt where they had to find and answer questions using their basic skills and knowledge of key facts. Once they had answered all the questions, they could work out what the special pirate code word was!

We have been learning about how people fought the Great Fire of London in 1666 and the different equipment that was used. The children thoroughly enjoyed a drama lesson where we got in role and had to fight the fire. Then they used all this knowledge to write about the different methods used. We were absolutely blown away by how much the children remembered! Great work year 1!

Next Friday (1st July) will be the last time that reading books are sent out for this academic year. Please ensure that books are returned the following week (week beginning the 4th July). This is so that Mrs Questa and Mrs Swift can organise the books ready for September.
