We have had another busy week in year 1!
In maths, we have been comparing numbers using the language of 'greater than', 'less than' and 'equal to'. We also moved on to using the mathematical symbols < > and = to compare numbers of objects. The children have really enjoyed some practical maths sessions this week - you can see some photos below.
As part of our topic on toys, we are designing and making animal puppets in DT. The children focussed on their designing skills this week. They drew their design and then added labels to show what materials they would use, how they would join the pieces together and what finishing touches they would add. The children are very excited to start developing their cutting and sewing skills over the next few weeks and then making their final puppets with you at our 'parent event' on the 20th October.
In PSHE, we looked at playground games from around the world. The children enjoyed playing 3 different games and then we talked about which was their favourite and how it made them feel. Lots of the children said they were excited to play some of these games at home!
Have a lovely weekend!
