We have had a jam-packed final week of the half term in year 1!
On Tuesday the children really enjoyed the whole-school jubilee celebrations – you can see some pictures of what they got up to below.
On Wednesday, the children really enjoyed a trip to Tropical World. In the morning, the children took part in a workshop which linked to our science topic on animals. The Tropical World staff were blown away by how much the children had remembered and they took part in the workshop activities really well. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring Tropical World in the afternoon and seeing all the animals and I am sure they will tell you that having ice lollies in the gardens was a particular highlight of their day!
We had our final gymnastics session with coach Becky this week. The children practised all the shapes and balances that they have learnt over the last few weeks before using the apparatus. The children explored different ways of moving on the equipment and then looked at moving over and under the different apparatus.
This week in DT the children completed their ‘moving pages’ project. The children worked with such care and concentration to make their finished products and should be really proud of them!
Wow! What a week! We are sure the children are all ready for a well-deserved rest! We hope you all have a lovely half-term break!
