We will explore D.T. aspects of researching, designing, planning, making and evaluating against success criteria across topics.
All projects will have a purpose and an intended user - which could be story based. We will practice skills and adapt plans before we make our final design projects.
Autumn
We will be exploring Wheel and Axle mechanisms and materials.
Mechanisms - vehicles to carry something.
Materials - malleable clay - clay pots.(optional unit if time)
Spring
Structures - explore free standing structures - eg frames, towers, walls
Explore strengthening joins and the stability of structures.
Summer
Food & Nutrition - healthy snack/picnic - design, plan and make. Use cutting, chopping, grating skills.
