Week 5
This week, in maths, we have been learning about 2D shapes. The children enjoyed working with a partner to sort a set of 2D shapes in different ways. The children were brilliant at explaining what they had done and explaining their reasoning for putting which shapes where.
"We have sorted them into colours."
"We have sorted them into size - big and small shapes."
"We have sorted them by their name - we have 5 groups!"
"We have sorted them into shapes with corners and shapes with no corners."
"We have done shapes with straight sides and ones with curved sides."
In Art, we continued with our drawing pathway and did some observational drawings of shells using sketching pencils and pens. We were so impressed by how carefully the children looked and how focussed they were!
