Each week, children will bring home a list of spellings to practise. Please encourage your child not only to learn how to spell each word correctly, but also to use them in sentences, so they understand what the words mean and how they can be used in context.
We have two spelling groups in Year 3:
Mr Elliot’s group
Mrs Crabtree’s group
Children should practise the spellings for their group each week.
Spellings: symbol, gym, myth, synonym, Egypt, lyrics, pyramid, system, mystery and gymnastics
Spellings: symbol, gym, myth, Egypt and lyrics
Children will be tested on these spellings every Monday in class.
Write each word 3 times neatly.
Say the word aloud and clap the sounds.
Write a sentence using each spelling word.
Try a spelling quiz with an adult.
