We have introduced some new activities into our provision this week including:
The children have really enjoyed these new challenges and have been very busy during their choosing time.
This half term, in DT, we will be designing and making a hand puppet to re-tell the story of Little Red Riding Hood to the children in reception. This week, we thought about different ways that we could join 2 pieces of fabric together. The children came up with lots of great ideas!
Sienna - "We could sew them."
Elliot - "We could use selloptape."
Max- "We could use a stapler."
Ellie - "We could tie it with string."
Alfie - "We can use glue."
We explored using pins, staples and glue to join fabric and considered the advantages and disadvantages of each one. The children then decided which technique they would like to use when making their puppet; they came up with some super explanations for why their chosen method would be good.
