Week 2
The children have been really enjoying our new art unit which has a drawing focus. The children enjoyed using their whole bodies to create chalk spirals on the playground this week. We also explored the marks that we can make using chalk and pastel. The children investigated how changing the pressure, speed of movement and part of the pastel they used changed the marks that they made. We created spiral pictures and the children worked as artists making decisions about which way to have their paper ( portrait or landscape), which colours to use and what types of marks to fill their spiral with.
