Wow, wow, wow! What a busy week we have had in year 1! A huge thank you to those who came to our parent event. The children really enjoyed making their puppets and we were so impressed with how closely they followed their designs! The children created and performed their own puppet shows to reception - we were so proud of how confident they were and the loud performing voices that they used!
We completed our topic on toys by setting up our own toy museum! The children created all the signs and labels and their very important ‘museum guide’ badges. We even had a selection of children acting as ‘curators’ who wore special gloves to care for and handle the artefacts! Our museum was visited by children from year 2 and several members of staff! They were so impressed with all the facts that the children told them and the knowledge and vocabulary they had remembered! Super work year 1!
RB - “ Did you know that 100 years is a century?”
HC - “ This toy is new because it is electronic.”
AT - “ This is the oldest teddy because it is stuffed with straw and has wear and tear.”
FS - “ Toys have changed because of innovation.”
