Week 2

What a wonderfully busy week we have had in year 1!

On Wednesday, we went to Yorkshire Wildlife Park where the children blew us away with how much they had remembered from our science topic on animals. We had snacks with the lemurs, held giant African land snails and watched the polar bears put on a performance! We were so proud of how well the children behaved; they were great ambassadors for our school!

On Thursday, in history, we thought about the key question: What did people do to try and stop the fire?

To answer this question, we used drama to explore the benefits and limitations of the fire-fighting equipment from 1666.The children thoroughly enjoyed this activity ( and yes... Miss Richards did get very wet!)

We were SO proud of the children for completing their sponsored fun run this afternoon! They demonstrated incredible perseverance and it was a pleasure to see how they supported and encouraged each other along the way. We raised an incredible £500 for our class charity, WISE. A huge thank you for your support!
